My Network

Running a business can be lonely! Working with some amazing people in the wider health and wellbeing community really makes a difference. Here are just some of the great people and businesses I’ve had the pleasure of working with, collaborating with and who provide great local services.

Pr@xis probiotics

Simon and I have been working together on workshops for many years, initially through building the THRIVE community, providing free monthly nutrition and wellbeing workshops. Since 2018, we’ve been working together to educate people about the vital importance of gut health. With my knowledge of nutrition, and Simon’s extensive experience of creating probiotic superfoods, we deliver joint workshops to share our collective knowledge and experience.

Probiotic love

Dena Smiles is an award winning chef and fermentalist and owner of Probiotic Love. We worked together on a THRIVE workshop on fermentation and gut health back in 2016 and have collaborated on similar workshops more recently. We shared a stall at Wellfest 2018 and presented alongside one another at Ferment - the UK’s first fermentation festival in October. More joint workshops to come in 2019 so watch this space!

Healthy & Psyched

Rachel Evans is a behaviour change psychologist and healthy food blogger. She runs successful courses in how to find balance with food, and helps clients overcome the diet challenges they may face. We’re running workshops together on plant-based nutrition and the psychology of eating in January 2019 (tickets here) and have plans for other collaborations in the future.

Rask

Rask Cafe is one of my favourite haunts in Derby. It’s the perfect place for me to spend the day on my laptop catching up with emails, doing some admin, writing workshop material, creating client plans and doing research or uni work. The staff are super friendly and they know me well (and know to warn me when any of the dishes contain coriander!). The food is great - healthy, honest and delicious with a Scandanavian vibe. They sell some tasty cakes and bakes, some are even on the healthier side! There is usually something vegan, gluten free and/or dairy free.

They have also been known to let me run workshops in their cafe!

Women Rocking Business

Women Rocking Business is a wonderful platform and community hub for female business owners in the Derby area. There are free regular networking meetings, social gatherings and events. It’s great just to hang out with women facing the same issues as you and to share ideas and support each other. The creator of WRB, Jenny Ryan, is a fabulous photographer and branding mastermind. She’s responsible for a lot of the images on my own website and social media sites, and also helps women with other aspects of running a small business too - such as branding, taking great product shots and understanding social media!
